Treat Friends and Foes Alike

Make the Golden Rule ‘Treat others as you want them to treat you’ central to all your interactions with people around you. It will ensure lots of positivity, love and warmth.

The Bible says, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. In layman terms, it means treat others the same way as you would want them to treat you. Not just the Bible, this saying is popular across different religions and cultures.

The cornerstone of human interaction is behaving with everyone in a proper, civil manner; only then will people behave in the same manner with us.

We live in a society and interact with many people. We take a liking to certain people and vice-versa. But this does not mean that our interaction with those whom we don’t like is bad. It is important that we behave in a polite and civil manner so that the other party may also choose to treat us similarly.

Another rule to remember is that what you wish upon others, you wish upon yourself. This means that whatever you wish for others, you are wishing the same for yourself. So be careful what you wish for…it might just come tru!. What is recommended is wishing the best for all, be it an enemy or a friend. This way, you can have a good, restful sleep, free of all tension and bad thoughts.

It is important that such basic social etiquettes are taught to all, especially children, as only then will they learn to empathize and show concern to all. Children who learn to treat everyone equally from a young age will grow up to be caring, sensitive individuals.
