The Art of ‘ Thank You ’

Getting into the habit of saying ‘ Thank You ’ brings much joy, peace and happiness in our day-to-day lives.

How often do we say ‘ thank you ’ nowadays? When you stop to think about it, the answer is usually – very little. It’s a mad, mad rush every day and we are often left with no time to thank people around us. Besides the people around us, we often don’t give thanks to the Lord for all that he has done. Giving thanks or developing gratitude skills is very important for our personal growth. Saying ‘thank you’ will definitely make one feel happy and humble.

Say ‘ thank you ’

Occasionally, we must take a break from our marathon lives and stop to thank all those who are important to us. A simple ‘thank you’ is all it takes to bring a smile on their lips. When we learn to appreciate the things around us, it fills our lives with immense joy and peace. So now you know… the key to happiness are two simple words, ‘thank you’.

Start with something small

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step. It is the same while developing appreciation skills. Start by being thankful for something small like the beautiful day ahead of you or the lovely meal from last night. These small things will go a long way in making you feel better. Make this a daily habit and see the difference. You will definitely smile more and be more happy and carefree. You will slowly, but surely, develop the ability to appreciate the good things in life.

Pray more

While we thank the people around us directly, we connect with God through prayers. In our prayers, we thank him for all the favors received and for all the happiness bestowed upon us. Prayers are a good way of developing the art of gratitude. Do include a small prayer in your daily routine and watch it work wonders.

Being grateful also enhances good will. Everyone likes being appreciated and often there is mutual reciprocation. Be grateful to others and watch others appreciate you too.
