Simple Ways to Deal with a Nasty Hangover

Worried about nasty hangovers from a night of indulgence? Here are some easy tips that will have you waking up fresh as a daisy the next day.

Who doesn’t like a drink or two? But sometimes, those drinks or two tend to multiply as an evening with friends wears on. What tends to happen then is a nasty hangover that sucks the fun out of a great evening.

A hangover, in layman terms, means the after-effects of too many drinks. One can experience severe headache, nausea and overall uneasiness while going through a hangover. A person suffering from a hangover will feel sick, dizzy, sleepy, confused and thirsty. One can also get anxiety and symptoms of depression in case of a severe hangover.

There are many easy methods by which one can cure a hangover and start feeling better.

 1. Stay hydrated and well fed: If you are not throwing up, eating something substantial will help ease the pressure of a hangover. Alcohol tends to dry your system up and you will feel constantly thirsty. Make sure to drink a lot of water and include citrus fruit juices like orange and lemon to feel better. Too much alcohol will lead to the body losing some electrolytes so it is a good idea to replace them with some sports drinks.

 2. A cup of hot coffee: Nothing better than a cup of hot, steaming coffee to beat the hangover blues and get you ready for the day. The caffeine in coffee will reduce the chances of a caffeine withdrawal and a painful headache. It is important though not to overdo the coffee. Instead, you need to drink lots of water.

 3. Exercise it out: A good way of emerging from an alcohol hangover is by getting enough exercise. Hit the gym or take a brisk morning walk to feel rejuvenated.

 4. Take medication: If the hangover still persists after trying these methods, it would be best to ask your doctor for some simple medication to elevate the symptoms.
