Twin Heart Meditation event pranic healing

Pranic healing, an alternative healing solution, uses prana (energy) to cure ailments by manipulating the body’s energy fields. Sangeetha Prabhakar, 50, is a Chennai-based practitioner of pranic healing who personally benefitted greatly by from it. She heals people and trains them too to help them address their problems. In a Q&A with her, she explains the concept of pranic healing

What is pranic healing?

In simple words, pranic healing is energy healing. It addresses physical, emotional and mental energy bodies. Finally, it is a bridge to spirituality.

How did you come to this system?

I was an asthmatic and used to have severe attacks. A close friend was practicing pranic healing in 1996. When you are in the middle of an attack, it can be most traumatic. You just need to breathe and that is what he made me do. The healing happened and I have not looked back.

I am a lifelong asthmatic and I can fully empathize with you. So…can you do away with medicines?

PH is an alternate method of healing. It only complements other medical systems. It helps to accelerate the healing and to develop a wholesome attitude to life. The practice helps to deal with many other problems associated with stress and financial, emotional and psychological problems. It is efficacious with addictions and lifestyle-related diseases and helps to manage them. You learn to help yourself and also help others in pranic healing when you learn the techniques and practice it. These techniques can be used to address any situation in life. With regular practice, you will come to a stage when you will not look at any issue as a problem.

Is it associated with a particular religion?

No, it is not. It is a way of life, an ancient science that healing goes beyond the physical and visible aspects of the human body. The invisible energy body or the aura can be cleansed and the life force (prana) can be augmented to heal affected parts anywhere in the body. It helps us to understand our own religion in a better way. We can see the deep significance of our rituals. The awareness of our energy field helps us to follow the tenets of our religion in a more informed way. Pranic healing is in fact beyond religion…it is the path to spirituality.

What is the origin of this practice?

Pranic healing was rediscovered by Master Choa Kok Sui. He has advocated not only energy for healing, but also different meditation techniques to help us completely evolve as a person. The easiest and most potent form of meditation that he prescribes is the ‘Twin Hearts’ practice. His greatest gift to alternative healing practices is Arhatic yoga.

What is Arhatic yoga?

This is an advanced technique in meditation. All of us long to merge with the divine. Derived from the word ‘arhat’ meaning ‘highly evolved being’, this yoga helps you to take the path to nirvana, or to merge with God! With Arhatic yoga practice, you can achieve inner peace and clarity of thought. It makes the path to the goal easier and also accelerates the achievement of the goal. Instead of walking, it is like flying to a destination.

What is the core philosophy of the practice?

Prana, Sanskrit meaning life-force, can be used to balance, harmonize and convert the body’s energy processes. When this invisible and vital energy is fine-tuned to its optimum levels, it keeps the body alive. It helps an individual to enjoy good health. It is a simple yet powerful method of no-touch energy healing. The ultimate goal in teaching pranic healing is to discover the purpose of one’s life. It is a reaffirmation of the reason for our existence…service to humanity. The pleasure of buying or owning something cannot be equaled to the joy in giving and sharing.

Please tell us more about your organization.

I am the Managing Trustee of MCKS Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation Trust, Tamil Nadu. I do all the Foundation work from home. My goal is to do what Master Choa Kok Sui intended…to create a pranic healer in every family. I run courses from my home when the numbers are small. Otherwise I hire a larger space to teach bigger groups. There are three courses—Pranic Healing Level I, Advanced Pranic Healing Level II and Pranic Psychotherapy Level III. Other advanced levels can be followed and finally it ends with learning to practice Arhatic yoga. Most of the courses run for two days. After each level, the student practices for a month before moving on to the next level. The whole process takes about six months to master all the levels.

The foundation conducts other activities as well. There are programs to reach out to society, especially the needy and sick.

What is Twin Heart meditation?

It is an advanced meditation technique that intends to illuminate universal consciousness. It can be performed in big groups with the intention of achieving social benefits like clean water, unpolluted air and a greener Chennai. We, the people, have to come together to achieve this major change that will benefit us. All it needs is for us to come together as a community that is one in spirit and purpose.

Is pranic healing effective only for oneself?

No…you can address another person’s problems as well. Life energy is the same in every person. If you are close to somebody and you know how to channelize your energy and direct it to others, you can heal that person with pranic healing. We can also meditate in a group and transmit the healing without physical contact.

Pranic healing in a nutshell:

  • Modern medicine is all about invasive diagnosis, treatments and procedures.
  • Pranic healing is based on traditional oriental practices, philosophy and principles of non-invasive medicine and meditation.
  • It reinforces the time-honored belief that the body can repair itself.
  • It taps into the belief that each of us has the ability to heal the imbalances and diseases in our bodies.
  • It prescribes practices with which we can harness and augment the life force in us using the natural qualities of healing from the sun, air, water and earth.
  • In pranic healing, nature and the life force play a big part in addressing physical and emotional imbalances.
  • Pranic healing uses no drugs and gadgets. The practitioner does not even use physical contact with the subject. It accelerates the healing process.
  • Group healing is often facilitated as the energy is greatly increased with multiple practitioners.
  • Master Choa Kok Sui says, “Life Energy or prana is all around us. It is pervasive; we are actually in an ocean of Life Energy. Based on this principle, a healer can draw in Pranic Energy or Life Energy from the surroundings.”
