Home Remedies for Radiant Skin

Looking for radiant skin? Well, it’s easy with natural home remedies.

Skin is one of the largest organs of our body and it’s essential to take good care of it. While cosmetics are handy for a quick lift to the skin, natural alternatives are long-lasting and more effective. Try out some of these home remedies with natural ingredients and get that glow!

Honey: Honey is a time-tested natural ingredient that works wonders on the skin. Consume it every morning with lime and water. Massage dry skin with honey and wash after leaving on for about ten minutes. Your skin will not only feel softer with the use of honey, but will also get a glow.

Turmeric: Since turmeric contains curcumin, which is a strong antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, it is effective in getting rid of free radicals that are harmful and damaging to the skin. Turmeric also boosts collagen production which in turn keeps the skin radiant and supple. Mix turmeric with gram flour and milk and apply on face and neck. Leave for 20 minutes and wash with water. Use this remedy twice a week and sport a radiant look every day.

Fruits and vegetables: Fruits like banana, papaya and vegetables like cucumber and lemon work wonders for the skin. Mash them up, add milk and honey and mix them with turmeric or multani mitti. The enzymes in the fruits and vegetables exfoliate and cool the skin and also firm the skin, preventing aging.

Almonds: Almonds are rich in Vitamin E which provides the external nourishment needed for the skin. It is especially beneficial for dry and dehydrated skin. Massage skin with a teaspoon of almond oil. Then gently scrub a paste made of almonds and a little milk. Wash off first with milk and then water. The skin instantly assumes a youthful look.

Sugar: Sugar helps in softening the skin. Mix sugar with cream or curd and slowly massage onto the skin. Leave for about 15 minutes and wash with cold water. You will have appealingly soft skin.

Milk: Milk offers the best and easiest nourishment for skin. Use it by itself or mix in with other natural ingredients to enhance their benefits; milk works its magic on the skin either way. Remove suntan by wiping your skin with a wad of cotton dipped in cold milk. Splash some cold milk and then wash with water. See the glow on your skin when you pat it dry.
